Marker highlights historical relevance of navigation lock
Officials dedicated the Lock 2 Park Historical Marker dedication June 24, 2020. This is the land wall on the shoreline of the Cumberland River in Nashville, Tennessee. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District operated the old navigation lock from 1907 to 1956. Remnants of the lock’s land wall, a lockmaster’s home, and other out buildings remain at Lock 2 Park. (USACE Photo by Lee Roberts)
