Tennessee prepared to distribute its ‘Post Disaster Guide’
Silver Jackets partners pose together Nov. 17, 2015 during a ceremony at the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency to announce the distribution of the Tennessee Post Disaster Guide to emergency management personnel across the state. Silver Jackets is an innovative program where multiple state, federal, and sometimes tribal and local agencies learn from each other and apply knowledge to reduce risk to natural hazards. Program goals include improved communication, facilitation of actions to reduce vulnerability and consequences of flooding, creation or supplement of mechanisms to implement or recommend solutions, leverage of available resources, and development of comprehensive regional flood risk management strategies.
