Major Brian M. Bergeman

MAJ Brian M. Bergeman assumed the role of Buffalo District Deputy District Commander in July 2024. In his most recent assignment, he completed Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.  

Bergeman hails from Bakersfield, California and received his commission into the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in April 2013 from Officer Candidate School at Fort Moore, Georgia. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Metropolitan State University of Denver. He holds a master’s degree in Operational Studies from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. 

Bergeman’s initial assignment was with the 19th Engineer Battalion, 20th Engineer Brigade, XVIII Airborne Corps at Fort Knox, Kentucky from 2013- 2016, where he served as a Platoon Leader (deployed to Kuwait in 2013), Company Executive Officer, and Battalion Property Book Officer. He served with 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Liberty, North Carolina from 2018-2022 as the Brigade Facilities Officer, Brigade Plans Officer, and Company Commander for Bravo Company, 127th Engineer Battalion. He was assigned to 1st Multi-Domain Task Force at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington where he served as the Task Force Facilities Officer, Plans Officer, and Assistant Chief of Operations from 2021-2023. 

Bergeman’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Army Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Army Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Parachutist Badge, and Air Assault Badge. 

Bergeman is a graduate of Basic Officer Leader Course, Expeditionary Warfare School, and Command and General Staff College. 

His deployments include Operation Enduring Freedom from 2013-2014.
