Major Jesse W. Davis was appointed Deputy District Commander of the Nashville District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), on July 8, 2024. In this role, he oversees water resource management throughout the Cumberland River Basin and manages navigational and regulatory efforts in the Tennessee River Basin. This area of responsibility extends over 59,000 square miles, including 49 field offices across seven states, and involves managing a workforce of more than 750 federal employees.

Maj. Davis received his commission in 2012 from Officer Candidate School (OCS) in Fort Moore, Georgia. His posts have included Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; Fort Riley, Kansas; Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; and Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. In 2013, he was assigned to a Brigade Engineer Battalion (BEB), where he served as a route clearance platoon leader and an executive officer. In 2019, he was assigned to an Echelon Above Brigade (EAB) Engineer Battalion, where he served as a Construction OIC and a Company Commander. His operational experience includes a 2020 deployment to Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.

Maj. Davis brings a wealth of USACE experience to his current position, having previously served in the Nashville District as part of the Technical Engineer Competency-Development Program (TEC-DP) in 2016, as an Aide-de-Camp in the Pacific Ocean Division (POD) in 2018, and as a Project Engineer in the Honolulu District in 2022.

His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Florida Atlantic University, a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology, and a Master in Operational Studies from the Command and General Staff College. He holds his Professional Engineering (PE) License in the state of Tennessee, a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, and is a certified Construction Manager (CCM). His military education includes the Engineer Officer Basic Course, the Engineer Captains Career Course, and the Command and General Staff College.

Maj. Davis's distinguished military career is highlighted by several honors, including the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, and the Expert Soldier Badge. His steadfast dedication and service to the U.S. Army and USACE reflect his unwavering commitment to the nation and its critical missions.
