Environmental Operating Principles
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reaffirmed commitment to the environment by formalizing a set of "Environmental Operating Principles" applicable to all its decision-making and programs. These principles foster unity of purpose onenvironmental issues and ensure employees consider conservation, environmental preservation and restoration in all Corps activities.

Great Lakes Habitat Implementation Plan FAQs
This year, Congress provided the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers $4.5 million for analyses of complex water resources issues within large, multijurdictional watersheds. Among the six projects selected by the Secretary of the Army for Civil Works was a proposal by the Corps¿ Great Lakes & Ohio River Division for a 2-year, $1 million project to develop an implementation plan that builds upon the recommendations of the Strategy of the Great Lakes Regional Collaboration, focused on the Habitat/Species priority issue area.
On April 12, 2006, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers selected six regions in the country that would receive funding this year to conduct analyses to address complex water resources issues in large, multijurisdictional watersheds.
